Andrea Leers and Jane Weinzapfel Keynote Speakers at AIALA Women in Architecture POWERFUL XIII
POWERFUL XIII: Out Loud
On October 2, 2026, Andrea Leers, FAIA and Jane Weinzapfel, FAIA, Founding Principals of Leers Weinzapfel Associates, took the stage as keynote speakers AIALA Women in Architecture POWERFUL XIII: Out Loud Conference.
Andrea and Jane titled their presentation “Defying Gravity” tracing their story by eras from their meeting as interns, founding the firm, to the present day. Each era was defined by built projects, women’s advocacy and social activism, firm structure, and life events.
POWERFUL XIII Conference goal was to bring together women in design to speak, challenge, and encourage what comes next. For decades, Andrea and Jane have “shaped the built environment with work that is bold, rigorous, and enduring, and they’ve opened the doors for the women who follow.” – Women in Architecture, AIA LA. The keynote encouraged women in design to continue to be bold and think big.
